Recent Shows I've Seen
This is a list of all the shows I've been to. This page could be considered my want page. Cuz any of these shows I'd kill for. Please let me know if you have any of these. I plan on scanning all of my ticket stubs and including those on this page in the near future.
Tomahawk
DJ Swamp
Monnday, November 26, 2001
Another Mike Patton project. Pretty cool show. The crowd lacked energy. Probably
due to the major snow storm outside. Patton is always a treat. He's a genius.
Slayer
Chaimara
Sunday, November 25, 2001
First Avenue
Slayer is amazing. One of my all time favorite bands. They still got it. Tight
as hell. Great variety of songs. Couple from each record including the old
standards. Great metal show. I'd see them every chance I get.
Melvins
Tuesday, October 16, 2001
Grumpys
Great show!! It's amazing seeing the Melvins in a small club. Buzzo busted a
string right off the bat. Which was ok, cuz Dale did some sweet drum stuff. They
played a super rockin set. Almost none of the usual Melvins fucking around. Wish
I would gone on Monday too...dammit!!
Slipknot
System of a Down
Rammstein
American Head Charge
No One
Thursday, October 11, 2001
Excel Energy Center
Killer show!! Slipknot is always top notch live. They had quite an elaborate
stage show this time around. Complete with rotating pentagram drum riser. System
of a down sounded good, but I can't get into them. Rammstein put on a very
entertaining set. The singer sang the first song on fire. Plus they had fire
almost every song. Can't go wrong with fire. American Head Charge was in yer
face loud. No one sucked. Pretty good show all around.
Built To Spill
Delusions
Wednesday, 09-05-01
First Avenue
I've seen Built to Spill in the past, and they've blown me away. But this show
just sorta fell flat for me. Covering George Harrison, Cheap Trick's Dream
Police was enough. But to play Freebird, in it's entirety was a bit annoying to
me. That's when I left.
Melvins
Folk Implosion
Thursday, 05-03-01
The Quest
Two great bands, one stage. Folk Implosion had an amazing set. Including a guest
drum appearance by Dale Crover on Bob Seger's Ramblin Man. Wow did that rock.
Melvins came out and did a completely solid performance. Complete with strip
tease by the Folk Implosions.
Idlewild
05-02-01
Let it Be Records
They only played like 4 or 5 songs. Woulda been more if they could have figured
out the sound system. They sounded nice tho. Different than electric, way
different. Nice contrast.
Evan Dando
Jesse Greene
Sunday, 04-29-01
Fine Line
My tickets cost me 25 bucks each. It says on the ticket $15 food coupon. So we
don't eat before the show thinking we have 30 bucks worth of food. We get there,
we have great seats by the way, and they tell us the kitchen is broken they
don't have food. They'll give us 30 bucks in alcohol instead. So long story
short, on an empty stomach 10 rum and cokes will really fuck you up. I wanted to
get my money's worth. I remember the show being really great, except for this
table of jocks. Who I kept shushing all night and the girl next to me agreed
that they were annoying. So as we were leaving I approached them and proceeded
to tell them to shut the fuck up next time and some other things. That's the
last thing I remember. Except waking up wondering how I got home, why I didn't
get my ass kicked, and how many days is this hangover gonna last. My first
blackout. Oh and yeah, Jesse Greene really sucked too.
Old 97's
Tuesday, 04-10-01
First Avenue
As usual, they put on a top notch performance. They are fun to watch.
Idlewild
Brassy
Sunday, 04-01-01
7th Street Entry
Idlewild is one of the best live bands. Holy crap, if you get the chance...make
sure you go. Damn did that rock. I'd kill to see them again.
Soft Boys
Saturday, 03-31-01
First Avenue
Robyn Hitchcock and the boys do songs from their inspirational Underwater
Moonlight record. Plus they do a fine job on an old Syd song. Pretty fun night.
Guided By Voices
Saturday, 03-24-01
400 Bar
They are awesome as usual. Supporting their new record Issolation Drills. Robert
never stops.
Jeff Tweedy
Jesse Greene & Craig Johnson
Monday, 03-12-01
Guthrie Theater
This was an awesome place to see Jeff play. He looked like he was having a great
time. Very witty. The sound was great. He played a great set. All in all a
really fun night. I got the bootleg to prove it. Minus the opening act. Those
two have no talent. Talk about tone deaf.
Leo Kottke
Sunday, 11-26-00
Ordway Center
I've seen him here before. I just can't remember what year it was. Each time has
been completely unbelievable. This man has to be seen to be believed. Possibly
the best guitarist to walk the earth.
Melvins
TVBC
Date Unknown
First Avenue
My friend Scott's band opened up for the Melvins at this First Avenue Employees
only private party thing. I of course, got on the guestlist. Scott's band played
a killer solid set followed by a really intimate Melvins performance. What an
incredible night. Oh yeah, got to talk with Dale a little backstage too. Thanks
Scott for making that one possible.
J Mascis and the Fog
Saturday, 11-04-00
First Avenue
This might possibly have been the loudest show ever. When they did a soundcheck
on the drums my whole chest felt like it was caving in. Once you add Mike Watt
on bass and J Mascis on squelch guitar, oh man. They ripped thru a ton of Dino
Jr. songs plus a few from his new record. Proved to be a very enjoyable show.
Nice after like 4 acoustic shows in a row.
Ryan Adams
Friday, 11-03-00
The Dive, Gustaphos
Took us a while to find the venue. We were late. It was a real intimate
setting. No smoking, no drinking, nobody was talking. Ryan looked a little
up tite. Probably due to the drinking and smoking thing. He did however play a
bunch more new songs that I've never heard and did some Neilesque stuff on the
piano. A great way to end a perfect 3 days of music.
Ryan Adams
Thursday, 11-02-00
Turf Club
This show was almost as good as the night before. He debuted some new songs.
Songs which he wrote that day. Like Firecracker. Still gets played to this day.
Ryan Adams
Wednesday, 11-01-00
7th Street Entry
Ryan put on an amazing show. Lots of crowd banter. Tons of crowd interaction.
Ryan even got one crowd member on stage to play guitar on Dead Flowers while he
did his Mick impression. My rusty old truck got broken into at the Target Center
parking lot. The only thing they took was a portable cd player. Which inside it
had my brand new that day pre-release Pneumoni CDR in it. There was a book of 75
CDR's that they looked thru but didn't like cuz they're not worth money.
Josh Rouse
Teddy Thompson
Monday, 10-30-00
7th Street Entry
Josh was amazing live. He had a guy on guitar doing the weird background stuff.
Sounded great. He even did a Shannon Wright cover "Captain of
Quarantine." Which he played while walking and pacing around 7th Street
Entry. Great way to finish the set. It's funny cuz I was listening to that song
on the way to the show.
Arcwelder
Friday, 10-27-00
7th Street Entry
I forgot my ticket at home. So I had to pay 12 instead of 6. Bummer.
Fear
Grimmace
10-17-00
400 Bar
I went to this one solo. Can't miss a Fear show. Although Lee was the only one.
And he was looking a bit old. I'm not sure if I'll go if he comes again?
Pedro the Lion
Death Cab for Cutie
Shannon Wright
10-14-00
7th Street Entry
Something happened where the Pedro guy had to play everything alone. It woulda
been better with the hole band. It was a little slow. But still good. Shannon
Wright made a hell of an effort.
Posies
400 Bar
09-00
Acoustic set by the newly re-formed duo. Tons of great Ken stories. All the
classic Posies songs. Great harmony's. Awesome night.
Wilco
Sunday, 07-30-00
The Fillmore
It's funny to go to a show in California cuz you can breathe in the bars. It
made me laugh tho, when Wilco came on, all you could smell was pot. Good pot and
lots of it. So it's cool to blaze a spleef but lite a butt and get the boot.
Cool.
Wilco
Saturday, 07-29-00
The Fillmore
I was supposed to go to all three shows, but it would have been tough making my
flight. So I blew off the third show. Hey, two Wilco shows in San Francisco is
not anything to whine about.
Sunny Day Real Estate
Wednesday, 06-28-00
First Avenue
Any day is the right day to see Sunny Day Real Estate. It's weird to me at most
of the Sunny Day shows I've been to, I've seen Jeremy hanging outside. Yet, I've
never mumbled a word to him. I've made eye contact several times. His eyes
make me sad.
Elliott Smith
The Minders
Saturday, 05-27-00
First Avenue
It's tough to sit through an electric Elliott set after just 3 months ago seeing
his near perfection acoustic act. I feel the same way I feel about Neil Young. I
love the guys acoustic stuff but the electric stuff looses too much dazzle.
Minders are a nice little opening band tho. Very Beatlesque, Guided by
Voicesesque and Cheap Trickesque wrapped in a poppy and catchy little burrito.
Melvins
Melvins (experimental set)
Wednesday, 04-12-00
First Avenue
I like the way they don't have openers anymore. Experimental set. That was a
little scary to read on a Melvins stubb. What now they're giving warnings?
Elliott Smith
Friday, 02-25-00
400 Bar
Acoustic show. Very intense. Very crisp. Amazing performance. It sends chills up
the spine to hear how quiet a room gets when Elliott Smith sings. Breathing
feels offensive.
Honeydogs
Frogpond
Friday, 01-04-00
First Avenue
I must have been really jonesing to go see a show. It gets a little scarce
around here in the winter time. You'd be surprised what you'll go see after it's
been a while.
Fantomas
Kid 606
Friday, 12-03-99
The Quest
Kid 606 proved to be kinda cool in an annoying sort of way. Me and my friends
used to joke about who our dream band would be. I always said Mike Patton Would
sing. Dave Lombardo would play drums. I always thought it was a toss up between
Trevor Dunn and Les Claypool. I'm not sure who i said for guitar but it wasn't
Buzzo. Don't get me wrong, I love the Melvins like I love my manhood. So
needless to say when I heard about this band I was exstatic. Live they proved to
be more then one could ever imagine. How can you open with Angel of Death? How
do you follow that up? Possibly the best live performance ever of anyone, ever.
Slipknot
Wednesday, 12-01-99
The Quest
I got sucked into the pit and I was outta breath in 30 seconds. I am too old to
moshing with 18 year olds. It sure was fun trying tho. Now that band has some
energy. Great live act.
Cheap Trick
Bottle Rockets
Friday, 11-12-99
First Avenue
Gotta love Cheap Trick at First Ave. Fun fun fun.
Wilco
Friday, 10-29-99
First Avenue
I didn't get my fill at the REM show, so I had to go. I love Wilco live.
REM
Wilco
Saturday, 08-21-99
Midway Stadium
We got there halfway thru Wilco's set. REM came out to do a half assed set
before it rained. Then they finished the set using their whole ass and that's
what they sounded like. At least I can say I saw them once. Once.
Guided By Voices
Wednesday, 08-04-99
First Avenue
During the Do the Colapse tour.
Mr. Bungle
Dillinger Escape Plan
Monday, 07-26-99
First Avenue
I fucked up and procrastinated getting tickets. Plus I had a comp. So I get
there and I've never seen the lines as long as they were. I knew my comp was no
good so I was lucky enough to scalp a ticket. After standing in line another
hour and standing inside for an hour. We were told Dillinger Escape Plan
wouldn't come out due to electricity problems in the building. If you've ever
heard Dillinger Escape Plan you know how bad that sucks. Cuz they rule. Anyway,
Bungle finally comes out bitching about the club. They put on an incredible
performance. Probably one of the most amazing bungle shows I've ever witnessed.
Flaming Lips
Sebadoh
Robyn Hitchcock
Monday, 07-19-99
First Avenue
Lips sucked. But Lou and Robyn were both excellent.
Melvins
Wednesday, 07-14-99
First Avenue
Ozzfest
Thursday, 07-01-99
Float Rite Park, WI
I saw Primus, Deftones, Slayer, Slipknot, and Black Sabbath all in the same day.
Not to mention a bunch of other hack bands like Staind, Static X, Fear Factory,
etc. I was quite impressed by Black Sabbath's performance. They played a lot of
songs besides Paranoid and Iron Man. Songs you'd think they wouldn't do. But
they did. And they sounded great...for 50 something.
Built to Spill
Lilly Liver
The Delusions
Sunday, 05-09-99
First Avenue
Built to Spill 3 times in 2 days. How could I be so lucky. A great end to a
perfect 2 days. Very moving.
Built to Spill
Sunday, 05-09-99
Let it Be Records
A great little in store performance. A bit stripped down compared to last
night.
Built to Spill
Lily Liver
The Delusions
Saturday, 05-08-99
First Avenue
The first of a two night. Guitar spectacular wall of sound that would make Jimi
Hendrix drool. Who woulda thought 3 strats turned up to 11 all using slides and
delay could sound so fucking cool. Heaven.
Slayer
Meshuggah
Sick of it All
Monday, 04-19-99
Roy Wilkins Auditorium
Meshuggah proved to be a very intense live act. Wow they were tight. Slayer
kicked ass as usual. Sadly, that's the last time they will headline.
Sebadoh
Guitar Mountain
Tuesday, 04-13-99
First Avenue
They came out dresssed in wigs. Said they were Guitar Mountain and proceeded
into an hour of noise mixed with hints of Sebadoh throughout. It was actually
very entertaining cuz nobody knew what the hell was going on. I did, however.
Elliott Smith
Jr. High
Friday, 04-09-99
First Avenue
Split Lip Rayfield
Slobberbone
Friday, 03-05-99
Turf Club
What I heard should be an ok show turns out to be a fun as hell kinda night.
Split Lip proved to be a hootin and hollerin good time. Slobberbone really
rocked things up too. Inlcuding some Judas Priest.
GBH
Against all Authority
Sunday, 02-07-99

First Avenue
More Son Volt? Can't believe I'm still going to their shows.

back together again.

State Theatre
This was during the Bauhaus reunion tour. They sounded great.
Beastie Boys

punk stuff plus plenty of new songs too.

Tuesday, 10-21-97
First Avenue
Not the most exciting Superchunk show I've ever seen.
Built to Spill
Monday, 10-13-97
First Avenue
It was funny cuz the band took periodic smoke breaks.
Jayhawks
Friday, 10-03-97
First Avenue
Just proves that the Jayhawks can be fun if you're with the right people and if
you get drunk enough.
Radiohead
Teenage Fanclub
Tuesday, 08-05-97
State Theatre
We had 8th row. Radiohead was a little boring. I'm not sure why there's so much
hype surrounding this band. They are so average.
Teenage Fanclub
Monday, 08-04-97
Let it in store performance
Got to meet the band. Got all of their autographs. My friend won tickets to the
show that evening with Radiohead.
Son Volt

Saturday, 11-23-96
First Avenue
Wilco is always worth the money live.
Mighty Mighty Bosstones
Tuesday, 11-05-96

Total jock rock. They would have been ok if they'd get rid of the guy who just
dances. Learn to play something or get outta the band, jesus.
Sebadoh
Evergreen
Friday, 09-27-96
First Avenue
Lou can be kinda hit and miss, but he was right on tonight. He was making up for
his poor performance last time.
Melvins
Wednesday, 09-18-96
First Avenue
They played 3 sets. Started kinda mellow and got heavier as they went. Amazing
show. They did the 5 minute chord. Hit a chord and stand there for 5 minutes
while it rings out.
Bob Mould
Skinny
Sunday, 09-08-96
First Avenue
I'm not a huge fan of Bob's acoustic shows. It'd be better if he didn't scream
so much. Now I sound old. He made a funny comment about the previous night's
Neil show. "Hey Neil...are you gonna buy that thing, or are you just trying
it out?"
Neil Young
Sponge
Saturday, 09-07-96
Target Center
Sponge? Come on. Who the hell are they. They sucked. They did a cover of Wish
You Were Here that made me wish I wasn't. Neil was loud and raw with way too
many solos. Coulda fit about 10 more songs in if he'd just cut some of the
solos.
Paul Westerberg
Friday, 09-06-96
State Theatre
Paul put on a satisfying show. Played plenty of old Mats classics as well as new
stuff.

Sunday, 08-18-96
Cedarfest
Arcwelder outside. Oh yeah.
Kiss
Melvins
Saturday, 07-13-96

Tuesday, 07-05-94
First Avenue
How lame am I to think that I would even have one second of fun at this show?
Not too mention I was at shows all week long as it was.
Sunny Day Real Estate
Velocity Girl
Sunday, 07-03-94
7th Street Entry
I was so impressed I had to go a second night.
Sunny Day Real Estate
Velocity Girl
Saturday, 07-02-94
7th Street Entry
My first time seeing Sunny Day. What an amazing night. One of my all time
favorite bands.

First Avenue
Babes in Toyland
Guzzard
05-09-94
First Avenue
I think I went cuz Guzzard was good...or did I actually like Babes in Toyland?
Pavement
3D's
Monday, 05-02-94
First Avenue
Had to be one of the most boring Pavement performances ever. They have the same
problem as the Mighty Mighty Bosstones, get rid of the guys who don't play any
instruments man.
Green Day
Tilt
Tuesday, 03-29-94
First Avenue
Believe it or not, Green Day really rocked. They were tight as hell, loud and
crisp. Not to mention they thre in a cool covers medly portion of the show.
Complete with Scorpions covers.
Run Westy Run
Friday, 03-25-94
7th Street Entry
Pretty good live, but I'd never buy a record. Ick.
Uncle Tupelo
Sunday, 03-20-94
First Avenue
Little did I realize the importance of this show. Didn't find out until 5 years
later how cool this band really was. Shoulda known then what I know now.
Nirvana
Breeders
Friday, 12-10-93
Roy WIlkins Auditorium
Both bands were great. Nirvana was especially great. Little did I know that
months later Kurt would take his own life.
Liz Phair
Red Red Meat
Friday, 03-11-94
First Avenue
Liz is definately not that great live. Tone deaf perhaps?
Jawbox
Trenchmouth
Girls vs. Boys
Wednesday, 03-09-94
First Avenue
I was blown away by GVSB's sound and use of two bass guitars. Jawbox sounded
like no other band I've ever heard before. Wow. Killer night.
Teenage Fanclub
Yo La Tengo
Thursday, 02-10-94
First Avenue
Yo La Tengo seems so boring and half talented. Teenage Fanclub on the other hand
have the wit of the Beatles and the polished sound of Big Star. Great show. They
did a nice cover of Dylan's Mr. Tamborine Man done Byrds style.
Superchunk
Poster Children
02-29-93
7th Street Entry
I loved seeing Superchunk in the Entry. Especially this early in their career.
What a treat to have seen this show.
Jesus Lizard
Melvins
Monday, 10-11-93
First Avenue
That's gotta be the best lineup. Now that's a show.
Bob Mould
Thursday, 10-07-93
First Avenue
Another acoustic Bob show. Coulda probably skipped this one.
Smashing Pumpkins
Tuesday, 10-05-93
First Avenue
Smashing Pumpkins sucked live. The guy couldn't sing. They played too many slow
songs. Very boring. Plus he did some a capela garb.
Fugazi
Unrest
Sunday, 05-23-93
First Avenue
My first Fugazi show. I wasn't sure what to expect. They proved to be tight and
very intense live. 5 bucks too.
Helmet
Jesus Lizard
Tuesday, 04-20-93
First Avenue
I got there a little late. Missed the Lizard. Which sucked cuz that was the main
reason I went. Helmet was heavier than fuck tho.
Tina and the Bside Movement
Roger Mcguinn
Saturday, 04-17-93
Orchestra Hall
We had great seats. This was really a treat of a show. Tina sounded awesome at
Orchestra Hall. Plus Roger was killer to see live. Just him and a 12 string.
Doing all the old classics. Plus some newer stuff. Extremely entertaining
night.
Bash & Pop
Wednesday, 04-13-93
Fine Line
My only Bash and Pop performance. I was lucky to have seen them play.
Fear
Skatenigs
02-01-93
7th Street Entry
This might possibly have been the best show I've ever seen. Skatenigs were an
awesome opening band. That right there was worth the 5 bucks. But Fear really
kicked it. All original members. Complete with jokes from Derf. Punk at it's
best...in the Entry.
Tina and the Bside Movement
Son Sen Ien
01-28-93
Glam Slam
Monster release party. Got the royal treatment. The whole family was there.

01-27-93
7th Street Entry
Not really sure what this show was all about.
Entombed
Dead Horse
Monday, 05-18-92
7th Street Entry
Dead Horse showed up late. But they put on a killer performance. Wow that was a
great band. Amazing drummer. We got to talk with them after the show. They were
cool as hell.
Sugar
Boo Radleys
Saturday, 10-17-92
First Avenue
Had the usual Bob Mould produced sonic wall of sound. Possibly the loudest
crispest show I've ever heard.
Screaming Trees
Luna 2
Wednesday, 10-07-92
First Avenue
The Trees sounded great live. Just kind of boring to watch.
Prong
Big Chief
Sunday, 09-27-92
First Avenue
Gwar
Blitzpeer
Melvins
Monday, 06-15-92
First Avenue
Melvins never showed up. Ouch. So I got stuck seeing Gwar.
Mr. Bungle
Grotus
Monday, 03-23-92
First Avenue
Oh my god what a show. They all had really cool costumes on. Played a ton from
first record plus a bunch of wierd cover songs. Stroke Me blew my mind. Pure
genius.
Nirvana
Urge Overkill
Monday, 10-14-91
First Avenue
Nothing like paying 5 bucks to see Nirvana on the brink of changing the world.
They tore the place up. Complete with the hole wrecking the equipment bit at the
end.
Mudhoney
Poster Children
Wednesday, 09-04-91
First Avenue
Mudhoney proved to be quite entertaining live. Considering their lackluster
records. They wrecked all their stuff too.
Melvins
Superball 63
09-01-91
7th Street Entry
My first Melvins show. Buzzo did not even look human too me. Really kinda
creepy. They came out and did feedback for like 15 minutes before actually going
into a song. My girlfriend really hated that. I learned that you should never
bring a girl to a Melvins show. They just don't get it.
Primus
Tad
Sunday, 08-11-91
First Avenue
My first Primus show. Who'd a thought the pogo would've been so much fun.

First Avenue
Good ol fashioned punk rock with a twist of metal.
Cro-Mags
Destruction
Monday, 05-08-89
First Avenue
I cherish the old Cro-Mags days. Wish they were still with us.
D.R.I.
Kreator
Holy Terror
Tuesday, 08-30-88
Cabooze
Another killer metal line up. Holy Terror stole the show. I love it when you
have no idea who the opener is and they kick ass.
Crumbsuckers
Tuesday, 05-03-88
Cabooze
This was back when they were building the Target Center and there was talk that
First Avenue had been sold. Needless to say they had all the shows at the
Cabooze that summer. Crappy venue. I still hate that place. Although some of
these shows were legendary. This one I'll never forget. Talk about tight. Good
god. What an awesome band they were.
Slayer
Motorhead
Monday, 02-21-88
First Avenue
Motorheard opening for Slayer in 1988. Oh my god. What a show. South of Heaven
tour. Jam fucking packed in that place. Slayer is god.

Exodus
Impaler
Celtic Frost
Monday, 11-30-87
Pepper's Danceland
To this day I have no idea where Peppers is or was. Exodus really rocked. Kinda
cool seeing Celtic Frost although it was during their downward spiral. Chery
Orchard's anyone?
Grim Reaper
Armored Saint
Helloween
Tuesday, 10-20-87
First Avenue
What can I say, I was a metal head. This was recorded for MTV. Me and my friend
Kyle were on MTV. I remember hating everyone that night except for Armored
Saint. Kinda torture sitting thru a Helloween set.
Flotsam and Jetsam
Tuesday, 10-13-87
First Avenue
Back in the old days when they had the speakers on the floor on the side of the
stage. We got there early enough and we sat on the speakers on the side of the
stage. Felt like I was in the band.
Anthrax
Metal Church
Powermad
Tuesday, 06-16-87
First Avenue
Another amazing lineup. All three groups were spectactular that night. I
remember it being one of the top metal shows I saw in the 80's. It's funny to
see when I look back at First Avenue calendars, what shows I could have been
going to instead of all this metal. Man did I miss some doosies.
Megadeth
Overkill
Sunday, 06-07-87
First Avenue
Man this was an incredible show. Megadeth were true metal. Dave Mustaine showed
his attitude by picking a fight with a guy in the crowd. Pretty lame to try and
fight one of your fans.
Deep Purple
Friday, 05-15-87
Civic Center
Perfect Strangers tour. Really great show.
Plasmatics
Impaler
Vile
Monday, 05-04-87

First Avenue
I actually paid good money to see Motorhead.

Clapton song again, it will be too soon.
Nasty Savage
Impaler
Kublai Khan
Sunday, 03-15-87
First Avenue
This was a fun show cuz there was nobody there. I guess by looking at the lineup
I can see why.
Cro-Mags
Kublai Khan
Monday, 03-09-87
First Avenue
This was my first true Punk Rock experience at First Avenue. I was pretty
frightened. My first pit.
Alice Cooper
Megadeth
Sunday, 02-07-87
Roy Wilkins Auditorium
We got there 30 minutes before the show. Went to the box office and got 8th row.
Sweet as hell. Alice Cooper really stunk up the place. Megadeth was killer.
Impaler
Powermad
Vile
Death Squad
12-27-86
First Avenue
Just a local death metal thing.
Metal Church
Powermad
Saturday, 11-22-86
First Avenue

11-18-86
Minneapolis Auditorium
Moody blues? I guess this is right before I decided that metal ruled.
Grateful Dead
Bob Dylan
Tom Petty
Thursday, 06-26-86

You'd think with a lineup like that it'd be good. Not at the dome. At least I
can say I saw the Dead. My only Dead show.
Judas Priest
Dokken
Sunday, 05-25-86
St. Paul Civic Center
We had first row. Turbo Lover tour. I got kicked out for reaching over the
boards. But I got right back in.
Stryper
Armored Saint
Saturday, 05-03-86
Orpheum
I have no idea how or why I ended up at a Stryper show. I want to say it was
because Armored Saint opened up? But that doesn't seem like enough reason to me.
Anyway, we got Armored Saint's autograph. I got a Stryper bible too come to
think of it.
Van Halen
BTO
Tuesday, 04-29-86
St. Paul Civic Center
Van Halen couldn't find a better opener than that? I guess it was on the 5150
Hagar tour. Boy was that a sucky show. My only VH experience.
ZZ Top
Saturday, 02-08-86
Civic Center
Actually ZZ Top was pretty good. They had a really killer laser show.
Neil Young
Nicollet Larson
Sunday, 09-01-85
State Fair Auditorium
I had been sober for 9 months before this show. I smoked so much weed I thought
I was going to die. I saw my family counselor on the way out of the building,
good thing he didn't see my wasted ass.
Deep Purple
Girlschool
Wednesday, 04-03-85
St. Paul Civic Center
I feel pretty lucky to have attended this concert. Considering I was in
treatment last time they came and had to sell my tickets.

the show. Really lame.
Heart
Riverfest
Not sure when.
Nuclear Assault
Overkill
Cabooze
Can't remember the date on this one, but Nuclear Assault really rocked.
Van Morrison
Riverfest
He was pretty boring.
Byrds
Riverfest
We were bailing out of the Van show when we found out the Byrds were playing a
second stage. Wow did they kick ass. Very great show. Not sure how many gus were
original but it still had Roger McGuinn.
Boston
St. Civic Center
This was on the Third Stage tour. Yuck.
Metallica
Cult

How's that for a lineup. Legondary voivod show. I'm lucky to have seen that one.
Ted Nugent

This was my very first show. I was 11. During the Penetrator tour. It inspired
me to learn to play the guitar.
